The guilt moms feel when they experience joy and feel strong and confident in their bodies, while watching other moms in this country fear leaving their homes or dropping their kids at school… it’s real.

I feel it too. As a mom myself, I’ve asked: How could I possibly feel good in my body right now with everything going on?

Shouldn’t I feel terrible too?

But we’ve got this backwards.

Feeling good in your body is needed more than ever right now.

Joy isn’t ignorance. It isn’t avoidance. It’s part of how we survive and how we keep showing up.

Your body is the vessel through which you experience everything in your life. It’s what carries you through hard conversations, long days, caregiving, leadership, and the moments when things feel overwhelming.

When you have a place in your life where you feel strong, grounded, and confident, it changes how you move through every single day.

So if everything feels out of control right now, creating one space where you do feel in control like in your body, your strength, your care…matters more than you think.

True story. Not that I’m spending much time staring at anyone else in the gym. I’m too focused on my own workout.

But I caught my reflection in the mirror today and thought, “Damn! Not too bad for a 46 year old single mom” ha!

Having lost 75lb in the last decade while getting stronger each year has helped me feel like I’m aging in reverse.

And if that makes you feel uncomfortable, that means you probably want to feel a bit of that yourself.

It’s called envy and it happens to me too, but in other ways.

Like when you see something someone else has or does and it seems to happen with ease??

Truthfully, I get triggered when I see a woman being cared for by a male partner. Instead of giving up hope or getting mad that I don’t have that myself, I am working to make this happen for me too.

And you could be doing the same in terms of how you feel in your body.

If you don’t feel good, know this… You CAN and you do DESERVE to feel this too!

It doesn’t have to be all down hill after 40.
It can quite literally be the opposite. I’m living proof of that.

Life gets to feel good. You get to feel good (even over 40!).

Imagine if you let yourself believe that.
